La Pergola is a luxurious four-bedroom villa which has been tastefully furnished and equipped to accommodate up to 8 people, plus a baby. Formerly a barn, La Pergola has been converted into a beautiful villa for family holidays. It’s also perfect for accommodating two families or a group of friends who want to holiday together. The local village is only a one-minute walk away and superb sandy beaches are just an eight-minute drive away.
La Pergola is a two-storey villa with four air-conditioned bedrooms, two family bathrooms and a shower room. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with double beds, the third bedroom is furnished with twin beds and the fourth bedroom is furnished with bunk beds. On the ground floor, the accommodation comprises an open-plan sitting room, a kitchen, one double bedroom, the bunk bedroom, one family bathroom and a shower room with a WC; on the first floor are the second double bedroom, the twin bedroom, the second family bathroom and a separate WC.
At Gîtes in Angles, we specifically cater for families with children. We have an extensive library of children’s books, videos and DVDs, lots of board games, toys, dressing-up clothes, train sets, building blocks and a dolls house. Guests also have use of the wonderful 12m x 6m heated, fully fenced swimming pool, which has been designed and built with children’s enjoyment in mind.
For families travelling with young babies, we supply a steriliser, a bottle warmer, a travel cot, a bed-guard, blackout blinds, a changing mat, a baby bath, crockery & cutlery, a food blender, a high chair and a pushchair. Please contact us to confirm your precise requirements.
For the adults in the party, the villa is equipped with a projector TV home cinema with surround sound and a 3-metre motorised screen, all SKY children’s, sports and film channels, an iPod docking station, a FREE 24-hour Wi-Fi internet connection and a Wii console with interactive family games (great on the big screen)!
La Pergola has been designed to allow easy access to the villa for older guests with limited mobility and wheelchair users. The property has non-slip ramps and a fully tiled wet room with a shower and a WC. In addition, all internal and external doors are at least 1 metre wide.

There is also a large bookcase with an excellent choice of top-title family and children’s films, together with lots of great books for babies, children, teens and adults, including fiction, romances, thrillers and autobiographies. Lots of children’s toys are also provided, such as train sets, building blocks, a wonderful dolls house, dressing up clothes with princess slippers... In your villa you will find a list of our "Top 10 Things to do with the Kids" in and around Angles, including local adventure parks, theme parks and water parks. There are also reviews of over 20 restaurants in the surrounding area, along with detailed information about sporting & leisure activities nearby, local events and plenty of ideas for entertaining the children. We even have some recommendations "just for the grown ups"!
La Pergola : the kitchen [click to enlarge]Open-plan kitchen: the villa’s huge kitchen has been beautifully equipped with a farmhouse table, a 5-burner range cooker (great to cook on for a large group), a microwave, a Nespresso coffee machine, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a large fridge-freezer and ironing facilities.
Little extras provided include washing-up liquid, dishcloths, bin bags, kitchen foil, clingfilm, kitchen towels and various herbs & spices, including salt & pepper pots. We have also catered for the little ones with child-friendly crockery & cutlery, a baby-bottle warmer, a microwavable bottle steriliser, a food blender, a high chair and a pushchair (all included in the price).
Four air-conditioned bedrooms: all four bedrooms have free-standing air conditioning units and are furnished to an exceptionally high standard with very comfortable beds. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with double beds; the third bedroom is furnished with two single beds; the fourth bedroom is furnished with bunk beds. All bed linen, bath towels and hand towels are supplied for each guest in residence. La Pergola : the ground-floor double bedroom [click to enlarge]The 15ft-high chestnut and oak ceilings give the ground-floor double bedroom a very light and airy feel. It is a delightful, sunny bedroom with double doors which opening directly to the outside. The ground-floor family bathroom is equipped with a jacuzzi bath and hand basin. Opposite is a shower room with a WC and a hand basin.
The first-floor double bedroom is very special. The handmade, antique furniture was bought as a complete set from a large old farmhouse here in the Vendée. The ornate, hand-crafted bed looks stunning set against the buttermilk-coloured walls. The mirror on the wardrobe and the marble inlay of the two side tables finish the room off beautifully. La Pergola : the ground-floor bunk bedroom [click to enlarge]The first-floor twin bedroom has two adult-size, top-quality single beds, along with bookcases stacked with children’s toys and books. For more than four adults sharing, the single beds can be made into one double bed. The spacious ground-floor bunk bedroom is furnished with bunk beds and also has a toy chest full of toys and board games, with lots of room to play!
La Pergola has a small private outdoor terrace, which is accessible from double patio doors in La Pergola’s sitting room. You can all eat together at the picnic-style table with benches – and a kiddie-size table and chairs has been provided for smaller children. There is a chimney-style barbecue on the terrace so that you can cook delicious meals outside, along with a herb garden stocked with plenty of fresh mint for your early evening Pimms on the terrace!La Pergola : dine alfresco! Swimming pool area: the shared 12m x 6m swimming pool is surrounded by decked areas (150m²) which are equipped with ample sunloungers for sunbathing. Set back from the pool is a raised, decked terrace with café-style tables & chairs. Shaded by a large walnut tree, this is a great place for the kids to play out of the sun.
The pool has been specifically designed and built with children’s enjoyment in mind. The shallow end is only 1.05m deep (i.e. shallower than normal), so young children can stand in the water easily. There is both a safety fence and a lockable safety gate (shared with Le Palmier). Please note that parents are fully responsible for the keys to the safety gate.
The large swimming pool is shared by guests staying in Le Palmier, Le Pressoir and La Pergola, so time spent by the pool will mean your kids are bound to make new friends as they all play together!

Situated less than four hours away from St-Malo and just an hour away from the airports at Nantes and La Rochelle, La Pergola is a perfect getaway for those wanting a quick, easy trip to excellent beaches and sunshine. Airport pick up/drop off: let us know your flight times and you will be picked up from or taken back to the airport in style! Please contact us for prices and availability.
Taxi service: the law relating to drinking & driving is much stricter in France than it is in the UK, so we are happy to offer you a taxi service to and from beaches, local attractions and restaurants, so ensuring that everyone in your party can relax and enjoy your trip or evening out. Please contact us for prices and availability.
Early check-in: do you want to be sunbathing by the pool by 2pm on the day of your arrival? Why not take advantage of our early check-in offer so that your villa is the first to be ready on arrival day? For 75€ (per villa) and subject to availability, your villa can be given priority by the cleaners and you could be diving into the pool just after lunch! Please contact us for more details.
Late checking-out: if your return flight or ferry is not until the evening, take advantage of our late checking-out offer. For 60€ (per villa) and subject to availability, you can stay in your villa until 11am (normal checking-out is before 10am) and continue to use the garden and pool area until 1pm. Towel hire: all our pool/beach towels are 100% cotton and very large! Should you want a bit of extra space in your luggage or in the car on the way home for those bottles of wine, pool/beach towels can be hired for 7.50€ per person for one week or 10€ per person for two weeks. Please note that bath towels and hand towels are supplied free of charge for each guest in residence. Please contact us for more details about pool/beach towel hire.
Additional linen hire: clean linen and towels can be supplied midway through your holiday for an additional cost of 120€ per villa. The used set of linen and towels is exchanged for a clean set on Wednesdays (for one-week holidays) or Saturdays/Sundays (for two-week holidays). Cleaning: for an extra special holiday, why not take advantage of our daily maid service? Guests can book one or two hours a day at a cost of 30€ an hour. Please note that this service is very popular, so we recommend that you contact us about this well in advance of your holiday. This service is subject to availability on Saturdays and Sundays.
