A prehistoric settlement was located near the Pointe du Grouin-du-Cou - as sea levels have risen, the exact spot has now disappeared, but it is approximately 2km from the shore. La-Tranche-sur-Mer: Today

Today, La-Tranche-sur-Mer is a major holiday destination - the town has 2,540 inhabitants during the winter, but around 100,000 inhabitants during the summer!
